Study of Whitewater River Tributaries Released
The Whitewater River watershed in Southwest Ohio continues to be one of the highest quality river systems in Ohio. An Ohio EPA survey of the watershed found a high diversity of fish and other aquatic species. Ohio EPA released the study today.

Ohio EPA Detects PFAS in Aullwood Audubon Farm Discovery Center Public Water System
(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) announced today that the public water system serving the Aullwood Audubon Farm Discovery Center, an educational facility and event space in Dayton, has tested positive for elevated levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Study of Lake Erie Central Basin Tributaries Released
Ohio EPA today released a study examining water and sediment chemistry, habitat, fish, and other aquatic life from 38 named and unnamed rivers and streams that flow into the Lake Erie Central Basin in northeast Ohio. These small streams drain approximately 1,040 square miles in portions of Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Lake, and Lorain counties.

Study of Rocky River Tributaries Released
Ohio EPA today released a study examining water and sediment chemistry, habitat, fish, and other aquatic life from 28 named and unnamed rivers and streams that flow into the Rocky River in northeast Ohio. These small streams drain approximately 294 square miles in portions of Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, and Summit counties.

Ohio EPA Announces H2Ohio Funding to Replace Failing Household Sewage Treatment Systems
Today, Ohio EPA announced that several communities will receive financial assistance as part of Gov. Mike DeWine’s H2Ohio initiative to help low- to moderate-income homeowners repair and replace failing household sewage treatment systems (HSTS). Health departments in Erie, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Williams, and Wood counties will each receive $250,000 in H2Ohio funding to replace failing household sewage treatment systems.
